My best photo

I'm going on vacation on June 20th. I'm counting down the days already.
I'm going back to Ohio to visit my family. And to take a traditional road trip with my sister and her grand-daughter. (My grand-niece, Katie)
This years road trip will take us to the same location as last year, Huron, Ohio. Which is fine by me. :-)
Last year I took what I think has to be my best photo. This is Katie looking for beach glass on Lake Erie.
I'll have new vacation photos posted in a few weeks! :-D

Ornament #2

There is a family from Texas who are Disney regulars. I have personalized a number of ornaments for them over the past few years.
It's reached the point where they just tell me, "Choose the design, we'll like it"
They came in a few days ago and let me know that this year is their 20th anniversary. I'm tickled that they put that much trust in me. But I still can't help but think, "Gee, I hope they like it"
Anyway, the original clip art had wedding rings. It was easy to turn it into a "20"

Barbara retires

After 30 years of working at Walt Disney World, our store manager, Barbara Tyink retired.
She was our manager for seven years.
We couldn't let this event go unnoticed. The following posts show photos from her retirement party.
Here she is, receiving one of her gifts, Waterford crystal Mickey ears.
The lady on the left is one of the Disney ambassadors.

The venue

The party was at Downtown Disney's Rainforest Cafe. It was in their patio on the lake.
They also catered, which was yummy.
As large as the patio was, there was barely enough room for all the party goers

The cake

Barbara's favorite character is Alice in Wonderland.
Somebody got an Alice tea set and had this cake made

Honorary Ambassador

A Disney ambassador gives Barbara a Honorary Ambassador pin. This honor is usually reserved to people retiring.
But another Honorary Ambassador happens to be none other than Julie Andrews!

Blink, and 30 years go by

I love this photo. Even though Barbara blinked.

I'm sure the past 30 years went by in a blink

CFLLB Gather, St Cloud, FL

I had a great time at our spring gather. It was at Chisholm Park near St. Cloud, FL. We did get a little rain that day. But not enough to dampen our fun.

The park is really pretty. It's set on Lake Toho.
There is a good reason not to feed the wildlife. The cranes have definately been fed. They were curious and came very close. It's a bit unnerving when a 4 foot tall bird with an 8 inch long beak is staring you down.
Check out the downed tree in the next photos. No telling how long it's been down. But it still has roots in the ground, so it's still green and growing!
